Forestry worker airlifted to hospital
This afternoon
the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was
called to a remote forest inland of Opotiki where a 58 year
old tauranga man had injured his back when he slipped on
rocks while crossing a creek.
It proved difficult to locate the injured man but once he was located the helicopter was able land nearby, he was given pain relief at the scene before being flown to Tauranga hospital in a moderate condition and some discomfort.
