Media release from Auckland Taxi Association
Representatives of the Auckland Taxi Association are expecting the Auckland Airport company to come up with some practical solutions to their problems at a meeting to be held at 3 pm today.
Association spokesperson Manmohan Singh says the drivers have agreed to the meeting on the condition that the company actually has concrete proposals to deal with their main concerns.
“We are not interested in rehashing old arguments or going over the same data over and over again,” he says.
“We need to find a way where our drivers can make a decent living and that is what this meeting needs to focus on.
“If the company cannot come up with something constructive for us to consider we will have no choice but to step up our protest activity around the airport.”
