LifeLine to form single organisation
Media release from Lifeline Auckland
LifeLine to form single organisation
Eight individual LifeLine organisations have now combined to form a single Incorporated Society, LifeLine New Zealand Inc. Until recently, volunteers at each Lifeline around the country have shared the answering of the LifeLine 0800 helpline, however have operated as individual entities with independent management and governance.
“The integration of eight LifeLine Centres into a single operational entity provides exciting opportunities for us in the future” commented Ben Palmer, Chair of LifeLine New Zealand. “This provides LifeLine with a stable platform from which to review our operations, and consider the ways we can continue to provide support to our communities around New Zealand in a caring and sustainable manner.”
The LifeLine Centres which have combined to form LifeLine New Zealand Incorporated include: Whangarei, Auckland, Waikato, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Taranaki, Marlborough and Christchurch. Jo Denvir, CEO of LifeLine New Zealand, emphasised that despite the change in governance structure, it was still very much business as usual around the country. “The phones, of course, continue to ring and our dedicated volunteers are here to help those who reach out to LifeLine.”
