New Zealand's waterways come and get involved in NZ Landcare
Trust's Communities for Clean Water ‘weekend of action’
18 – 19 October, where a series of events will take place
around the country.
Clean water is important to New Zealanders, it helps nurture our native biodiversity, underpins our economic success and provides numerous opportunities for recreational fun. ‘Communities for Clean Water’ encourages the general public to take an active interest in projects and activities that contribute to maintaining and restoring our waterways.
Events include community planting days, native fish workshops, kayak and boating trips and helping out at a native plant nursery. So why not come along and get involved, information about the campaign and details of the events can be found on the campaign website: www.cleanwaternz.org.nz
NZ Landcare Trust has been working with farmers, landowners and community groups on sustainable land and water management projects since 1996. We have had the honour to work with some remarkable communities around the country on a number of sustainability projects and have seen some great successes.
