Search for Missing Wind Surfer
This
evening at just after 1830 hrs the Tauranga based Trustpower
TECT Rescue helicopter was called to assist the Tauranga
Police in the search for a missing wind surfer who had been
reported missing in the Tauranga harbour, the man had been
wind surfing off Fergurson Park at Matua and when he failed
to return, the alarm was raised. The Trustpower TECT rescue
helicopter along with Police and Coastguard launched a
search, not long after commencing the search the missing man
called in safe and sound.
