Wellington Heads in the Sand: Climate Event
Wellington Heads in the Sand: Climate Event
Wellingtonians will gather at Oriental Bay at 11:30am tomorrow, Sunday 7 December to literally put their heads in the sand in a mass visual event.
This is an visual response to the Government's inaction on climate change and to its ongoing threats to the New Zealand environment from mining.
Similar actions will be taking place at beaches across New Zealand on the 7th December.
The action is timed to coincide with the UN's climate talks in Lima.
The Wellington event has been organised by a coalition of climate groups including Coal Action Network Aotearoa, 350.org, and Oil Free Wellington.
