Nominations Now Open
Nominations Now Open!
Nominations are now open for the
2015 PAK’n SAVE Kapiti Sportsperson of the Year
Awards.
There are 11 categories to enter into, with a new category for 2015, ‘Club of the Year’. Joe Franklin, Kapiti Lions Project Manager of the Awards said “clubs need to be thinking about which of their athletes they could nominate but also need to consider entering themselves and be acknowledged for the hard work that they do.”
The awards depend on the public and clubs telling the organisers who deserves recognition. The sporting community’s response is critical for the awards to provide appropriate recognition of the Coast’s sporting talent.
Anyone can submit a nomination including clubs, officials, individuals, friends, family and team-mates. Information has been sent out electronically to clubs, codes and colleges inviting participation. Any person or organisation wishing to participate but who hasn’t received the information can visit the awards website www.kapitispoy.org.nz or email info@kapitispoy.org.nz
Hard copy forms are also available at PAK’n SAVE Kapiti, district libraries and the Coastlands Customer Service desk.
As well as the kudos of winning an Award, two other major incentives to become involved is that the Supreme Winner will receive $1,000, ($500 for themselves and $500 for the Kapiti-based club, code or sport of their choice). The second incentive is that Lotto Sport Makers and Sport New Zealand, working in partnership with Lions, are donating $1,000 worth of merchandise, $500 of which will go to an individual in recognition of his or her role as an unpaid sports volunteer and another $500 merchandise voucher will go to the local club, code or sport of their choice.
