French film crew to visit Tolaga Bay Wharf

PRESS RELEASE
30th December 2014

French film crew to visit Tolaga Bay Wharf

Tolaga Bay Wharf will be closed to the public for two hours on New Year’s Day as media from France film there during their visit to Gisborne and the East Coast over the New Year period.

The media are visiting New Zealand as guests of a European car manufacturer, which is bringing them over to launch their latest vehicle release.

The fifteen strong group, from premium television networks, newspapers and magazines in France, are spending only three nights in New Zealand and two of those will be spent in Gisborne.

“Having this calibre of international media visit us is a wonderful opportunity. Even though their main focus will be test driving, photographing and filming the vehicles, they will be looking for other stories, photographic and filming opportunities while they are here.” says Kerry Taggart marketing manager Tourism Eastland.

During their visit they will be taking photos and filming at some of our iconic locations, including Rere Waterfall and Tolaga Bay Wharf. Filming will take place at Tolaga Bay Wharf on Thursday, 1st January between 3 and 5 pm, during which time the public will not be able to access the wharf.

“This media visit is awesome for the Gisborne District, we hope that our community will join us in welcoming and helping our visitors in any way that they can.
