Mid-Night Airlift for Patient
The
Palmerston North based Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to
Taihape around mid-night last night where a Dunedin man in
his 70's was suffering a serious medical event. The patient
was being transported by road ambulance from a rural
location and was met by the
The Rescue Helicopter for
the onwards transport to Palmerston North Hospital. The
rescue Helicopter was used due to the distance to hospital
and the urgent need for specialist care and treatment. The
mission was completed with the crew using Night Vision
Goggles.
