Club of the Year
Club of the Year
An exciting new category for 2015 PAK’n SAVE Kapiti Sportsperson of the Year awards has been added to the awards programme - Club of the Year.
Open to any sports club which displays good practice and strengths in the areas of planning, leadership, financial management, volunteer strategies, membership and community engagement, Clubs can also comment on their coach development, community engagement, competition/performance outcomes and any awards they have received.
The new category is sponsored by Kapiti Coast District Council, “this is a great opportunity for clubs to be recognised not only for their successes but also all of the hard work that goes into running them” says Mark Hammond, Council’s Sports Facilities Coordinator.
Based on the Wellington Sports Awards Club of the Year category, Lions Committee chairman Bill Pearson is pleased to be in alignment with the Wellington Awards. “This is an exciting addition to our categories, particularly as this is our 10th year of running the Sportsperson of the Year awards. This will recognise the outstanding sports clubs in the Kapiti district who bring our young sportspeople onto the world stage.”
Nominations forms are available at the district libraries, Kapiti PAK’n SAVE, Coastlands customer service desk or online at www.kapitispoy.org.nz/nominations Or you can email nominations@kapitispoy.org.nz
This year’s awards will be a buffet dinner held in Southwards Car Museum on Wednesday May 13th. Nominations are open now and close on 23rd March.
