Hawke’s Bay transport systems up for discussion
The future of Hawke’s Bay’s transport systems are up for discussion at Friday’s Regional Transport Committee meeting.
The Draft Regional Land Transport Plan and Regional Public Transport Plan were released for public comment late last year, with 32 submissions received on the Regional Land Transport Plan and 27 for the Regional Public Transport Plan.
The Regional Land Transport Plan looks at Hawke’s Bay’s transport system and what needs to be developed or improved in the next ten years to help the region prosper and to improve road safety. Meanwhile the Regional Public Transport Plan looks at the future needs for bus services across the region and schemes to ensure the mobility of people who find it difficult to drive or use public transport.
Friday’s meeting (starting at 10.15am) is an opportunity for those who have asked to present verbal submission to be heard, before the plans are finalised later this year.
