Locals to Help Plan Nelson Home & Garden Show Feature

Jade Promotions, the country’s largest provider of home, garden and lifestyle shows announced today that it is seeking local input to help introduce a new feature at this year’s Nelson Home & Garden Show, which will run 9-11 October 2015 at the Saxton Stadium.

Show organiser, Daniel Joll said, “This is a chance for locals to have their say about what feature they want to see at their show. We’re asking community organizations to approach us an idea for a display or event, and the best idea will receive free outdoor exhibiting space. We’re looking for concepts that will fit with the home and garden theme of the Show, plus appeal to a wide range of people.”

“Show features prove hugely popular at many of our other shows. At North Shore and Wellington for instance, the local Floral Art societies hold a floral design competition, Waitakere has an art and sculpture competition and we had a local building company build an architecturally-designed playhouse for charity at our Wellington Home & Garden Show. But the scope is much broader - it could be an art or photographic exhibition, perhaps a wood-turning demonstration – anything impressive that would wow show visitors. If the feature includes interesting onsite demonstrations, even better.” Mr. Joll said.

“We suggest that applicants look at our website first, to get a feel for the type of feature that would be suitable. It’s a fantastic chance for community groups to promote themselves to the public and for locals to have a voice about what’s on offer. Our shows are packed with products and inspiration for beautifying the home and garden, along with great show-only specials, the hottest trends and free daily seminars. We’re looking for an interesting event or display that will fit with that whole home improvement theme.” Mr. Joll said.

Ideas need to be in to Jade Promotions by 1 May 2015.
