Medical pick up Whangamata
This afternoon the Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to Whangamata where a 51 year old local man had suffered a suspected serious cardiac event,
The man was at the local medical center when he collapsed, St John ambulance staff drove the man to the local helipad to meet the helicopter before he was flown to Waikato hospital in a serious condition.
The rescue helicopter was used because of distance and fast transport to hospital.
