Housing New Zealand gives back for Neighbours Day
25 March 2015
A sausage sizzle, rubbish amnesty and activities for the kids are all on the menu for Housing New Zealand tenants and their neighbours this coming Saturday.
Saturday 28 March is Neighbours Day Aotearoa, and Housing New Zealand is getting in on the action, with neighbourhood activities planned for three locations in the greater Wellington area.
“Neighbours Day Aotearoa is a great opportunity to connect our tenants and people in our neighbourhoods, and help them connect with each other,” Jackie Pivac, Regional Manager Tenancy Services says.
The activities will be taking place in three locations – Wellington City, Lower Hutt and Porirua. As well as a sausage sizzle, Housing New Zealand tenants and other residents from the neighbourhood can benefit from a rubbish amnesty, a car wash, and even some help with gardening.
“We’ll have Housing New Zealand staff at all three events ready and willing to help out. We encourage anyone in the neighbourhoods we’ll be in to come and join in the fun and get to know each other better,” Ms Pivac says.
Housing New Zealand is New Zealand’s largest landlord, and owns or manages 68,000 properties across New Zealand housing around 193,000 people.
Details of each of the three Housing New Zealand Neighbours Day events, all to be held on Saturday 28 March, are as follows:
Wellington: 8am – 12noon, 21 Rolleston Street
Porirua: 9.30am – 12.30pm, Somerset Place
Lower Hutt: 12.30pm – 2.30pm, Awamutu Grove, Waiwhetu
