Man injured at Kawhia due to rolled vehicle
The Rotorua based BayTrust Rescue helicopter was dispatched to the West Coast township of Kawhia Saturdayafternoon at approximately 5.30pm.
A vehicle had rolled in a paddock and a 16 year old local male had suffered injuries as a result.
Local Ambulance and Fire Rescue attended the scene and after patient assessment the helicopter was called to transport the man quickly to hospital.
A landing site was set up at a nearby Marae to the accident site by emergency service crews for the rescue helicopter.
The injured occupant suffered suspect chest injuries and was listed as serious.
He was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.
