Delays on SH29 Kaimai Range
Delays on SH29 Kaimai Range
The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that there are delays of approximately 20 minutes on State Highway 29 over the Kaimai Range.
Stop/go traffic management and speed restrictions are in place to allow contractors to rehabilitate a section of highway near Soldiers Road. The work started on March 30 and is expected to be complete in mid-May.
Traffic levels this afternoon were higher than expected and the work has been stopped for the day to reduce congestion.
The Transport Agency says the work is scheduled to continue tomorrow. It is being done outside peak times to lessen the effect on motorists, however travellers should plan for delays and consider using alternative routes.
The Transport Agency apologises to motorists for any inconvenience and thanks motorists for their patience and understanding during the works.
