Council abandons its responsibility
Council abandons its responsibility
The push for a compromise on Ports of Auckland’s Bledisloe Wharf extensions is nothing short of a one-fingered salute to the people of Auckland.
The mayor needs to show some backbone and man up. One wharf is one wharf too many.
We want the best option for Auckland and until the promised Port Future Study is available no-one knows what the best option is. All work must halt until the study is complete.
Stop Stealing Our Harbour has never wavered from that position which is supported by thousands of concerned Aucklanders including many leading citizens from business and the community.
We will continue to vigorously challenge the mayor to live up to what he promised to do in August 2013 – no port expansion until the Port Future Study is complete.
