Horizons monitoring river levels
Horizons Rain Event May 2015 - Horizons monitoring river levels
Horizons Regional Council operations and emergency management staff are monitoring river levels across the Region.
The Council activated its Emergency Operations Centre at 5.30 this evening and incident controller Allan Cook says the team is largely in monitoring mode at this stage.
“We’re particularly monitoring water levels in the Mangaone and Makino streams at present. There is also potential for significant flooding in the Pohangina and Oroua and we will be keeping a close eye on the situation overnight.”
Motorists are being advised to take care on the roads and Horizons will issue further information should the situation change.
