Successful Sports Strapping and Massage workshops to be held in Porirua
Sports Massage and Strapping workshops to be hosted by Upper Hutt City Council’s Activation team in Porirua.
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 22 MAY 2015—Upper Hutt City Council’s Activation team are pleased to be extending the coverage of their very popular Sports Massage and Strapping workshops into the Western Bays region.
These workshops are specifically targeted at the coaches and volunteers that work in sports clubs and community groups, with the aim of improving their skills when assisting with their athletes in their sport. Techniques on strapping ankles, knees and shoulders to assist with injury prevention and management, along with effective sport massage techniques for pre-game and post-game will be covered.
David King from Activation says “We are so lucky to have the support of professional physiotherapists via ProActive Physiotherapy, and fortunate that these people are so proactive about helping the communities that they operate in.”
Workshops were run in Upper Hutt and Wellington last year, as well as earlier this year, and the feedback from participants was that they wanted more.
“It’s been great to expand the coverage to include Lower Hutt and now Porirua as well,” says Mr King.
The workshops will be run at the Norths Rugby Football clubrooms at Trust Porirua Park with the Sports Massage workshop on 10 June followed by the Sports Strapping workshop one week later on 17 June. Both run from 6.30 to 8.00 pm. Register online viawww.surveymonkey.com/r/GW6SQB7 or call David King on (04) 529 0091 and leave your contact details for him to call back and register you.
Places are strictly limited so be in quick.
