Lonely Miaow Adopt-a-thon 2015

If you are thinking about adopting a rescue cat or dog or just want to help out a good cause, come join us for Lonely Miaow's annual Adopt-a-thon. Spread the word about our biggest adoption event of the year and help make this year's the best one yet.

Details: Saturday, 13 June 2015, 11am to 3pm, Grey Lynn Library Hall, 474 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland 1021

There will be many adorable rescue cats and kittens to meet, stalls raising money for the Lonely Miaow charity where you can buy baked goods and refreshments, lucky dips, products for your own feline friend, and tickets for our raffles to win some fantastic prize hampers, worth over $3000 in total.

Lonely Miaow is lucky to also have the support from fellow animal welfare charity Human Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming Charitable Trust (HURRAH), an Auckland based dog rescue charity run entirely by volunteers.

Chrissy Clements, founder of HURRAH says, "HURRAH are delighted to be able to collaborate with the Lonely Miaow Association on their upcoming adoption event. It is a fantastic opportunity for us to meet the community, and raise awareness around the issue of pet overpopulation."

We will also be joined by Dr Jess Beer (BVSc, MANZCVS - Veterinary Behaviour) of Kiwi Vet Behaviour who will be offering her expertise to understanding cat behaviours, and offering services to assist with behavioural problems.

There will be a drop-off point on the day to donate food, litter or other items to our volunteer foster homes. Items we can sell on TradeMe to raise funds for Lonely Miaow are also welcome.

Moustache Milk and Cookies Bar are generously supporting the event with product donations . Spoon It Up! - Premium Frozen Yoghurt van will be selling frozen yoghurt with a portion of every yoghurt sold donated to Lonely Miaow. F-Stop Photography will be setting up a pop-up studio to take professional portraits - a portion of the profits of prints sold at the event will also be donated to Lonely Miaow.

The Lonely Miaow Association Incorporated is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue and care of stray and abandoned cats and kittens in the greater Auckland area. The organisation is entirely run by volunteers with 100% of donations going towards our rescue operations. Our rescue method is known as trap-assess-resolve (TAR). We never return a cat back to a situation where it is not being cared for, and we do whatever possible to rehome the cats and kittens we rescue.
