EOC Closes at 5.00pm – Reopens 8.00am Tomorrow
This is the last official communication from the Ruapehu District Council (RDC) Civil Defence Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) for Monday 22 June 2015.
The EOC will close at 5.00pm tonight and reopen at 8.00am tomorrow Tuesday 23 June 2015.
Although the Pipiriki-Raetihi Rd is the only road completely closed there are still numerous roads around Ruapehu that are still affected by slips.
The roads around Ohura have been affected by silt left behind by flooding.
Motorists are asked to take extra care when driving around the district.
If people do not absolutely need to drive at night they are asked to stay at home.
