Free mail redirections for Whanganui residents
New Zealand Post is offering a free twomonth mail redirection service to Whanganui residents affected by the floods.
From tomorrow (26 June), people living in these areas will be able to register for the free mail redirection at a PostShop or online at https://www.nzpost.co.nz/personal/receivingmail/ redirectmail “We want to provide some assistance to people who’ve had to leave their houses because of the flooding,” says Regional Operations Leader Marion Schrama. “The free twomonth mail redirection will help during the cleanup.
It means people who are temporarily away from their homes will be able to have their mail forwarded to a different address.”
Flooding and road closures have caused some disruption to mail deliveries in the lower North Island over the past few days, but services in most areas are now back to normal.
“Mail deliveries have resumed to most parts of Whanganui though there are still some areas, including Bastia Hill, that posties can’t get to,” says Marion Schrama.
