HUTT CITY COUNCIL NEWS RELEASE

Hutt City Libraries supporting local
business
Local businesses and start-ups from across the city are benefiting from a range of new services and workshops at Hutt City Libraries.
Services range from business research clinics for start-ups, through to business growth sessions for small-medium sized businesses ready to take the next step.
Nicole Oxenbridge and Caroline de Castro from the successful new business Fresh Desk, used the Business Bootcamp as a foundation to launch their venture, and have experienced great success with their commercial cleaning business.
Fresh Desk has experienced significant growth over the past 12 months, and now the pair is busy hiring new staff to meet demand.
“We attended Business Bootcamp last year and learned the basics of building a solid business,” says Caroline.
“We learned that if we wanted to succeed we needed to develop our core business, which is top quality cleaning. We concentrated on getting our cleaning service right from the start.
“The Fresh Desk is absolutely thriving and this winter we employed our first permanent staff. We feel very supported and very much part of the Hutt community.”
The range of workshops and business sessions are being held in the War Memorial Library throughout August, September and October. Lunchtime sessions are free, while more in-depth workshops cost $45.
These sessions are delivered in conjunction with Learn.fast and Research Services Ltd.
