A group of concerned Dunedin residents is organising a candlelit vigil on Friday at 5:15 at The Octagon to show solidarity with refugees
Children are invited to decorate flashlights/torches (in lieu of candles which would probably blow-out) and bring them to The Octagon
Speakers and information will be available
Further information will be posted on the Dunedin-Welcomes-Refugees Facebook page
At this stage we have confirmation that the event will be attended by Clare Curran, David Clark and Metiria Turei, we anticipate that other influential Dunedin people will wish to attend.
I would be extremely grateful if you could raise awareness of the event appropriately through your media outlets.
Thanks,
On behalf of Dunedin-Welcomes-Refugees
