FIREWORKS & MUSIC FESTIVAL HAS WOW FACTOR
The organiser of the big Fireworks & Music Festival at Rugby Park on Saturday 21 November is promising plenty of 'wow' factor! Peter Kett, say's, "the event will have the wow factor. It is the first time in a number of years there has been a fireworks display of this magnitude in Invercargill. It will be spectacular. The show suits this venue and those inside will get the full effect of an awesome display." Kett, an Invercargill City Councillor and the Vice President of the Rugby Southland Supporters Club, says, "all proceeds from the event will go to Junior Rugby in Southland."
Gates open at 6pm from when those in attendance will be able to enjoy performances from four bands that will provide a range of music suitable for people of all ages. Cruise Control will welcome patrons as they start arriving early in the evening before award winning duo Daniel Monteath and Michelle Lange, D&M, take to the stage at 7pm. An hour later Midnight Cruise, featuring Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame inductees Kerry Hawkins and Les Findlater, will perform. A contract is currently being finalised with the final band of the evening which will take the audience through until the fireworks show. The name of that band will be announced next week.
There are also giveaways for the first young children through the gate including glow sticks, bubble wands, bubble packs and balloons while there is a variety of food and beverage on offer including licensed bars. The fireworks display will wrap up a fantastic event as the sun sets over the south.
