Enjoy Christmas at Silo Park: Auckland’s Front Porch

Enjoy Christmas at Silo Park: Auckland’s Front Porch

Silo Park is a place where stories come together, where people share, socialise, or just sit and be. For four summers long, Silo Park at Auckland’s revitalised Wynyard Quarter, has been a place for Aucklanders to meet, greet and enjoy summer with a raft of movies, music and markets. Now in its fifth year, in association with Panuku Development Auckland and Fresh Concept, summer at Silo Park is reaching a new level with a curated series of activities and entertainment, bigger and better than ever before. A community of good times, Silo Park Season 5 celebrates the stories of Auckland (from all points on the compass) and its people - the people of the park. With Christmas in the air, spend your sunny evenings and afternoons at Silo Park, for classic family entertainment, music that’ll get you moving, unique local gifts, and delectable and diverse cuisine, all inspired by the people of Tāmaki Makaurau.

SILO CINEMA

Next month Christmas comes alive at Silo Park, with countless activities and events for Aucklanders of all ages and interest. The fail-safe medley of Silo Park Classics return in fine form, commencing with Silo Cinema every Fridaynight from 4 December. The first in a stream of cinematic family classics is Cool Runnings, the sporting comedy based on the Jamaican bobsledding team’s real-life experience at the 1988 Alberta Olympics. Cool Runnings screens on4 December as a family celebration of human spirit. On 11 December the North Pole will take over Silo Park with a Christmas favourite, Elf. This is followed on 18 December by Gremlins. Enjoy an awesome film to share with friends and family from the grass, made all the more scrumptious by the food and drink offerings available at the Silo Markets - because a patch of grass by the sea isn’t quite right unless you’ve a bite to eat and a cool drink (or hot, depending on your tastebuds) at hand. Silo Park is proud to host the best mobile food vendors Auckland has to offer: Tiger Burger, Yummy Thai, Langos, House of Dumplings, Taco Loco, Toro Churro, Lalele Organic and more! Add to the mix a tipple from the Silo Park bar, where you’ll find a broad range of local craft beers and interesting wines are on offer, and Silo Park is the mixing bowl for a meal and a movie just perfect to share with family, neighbours and friends.
