SH1 - Two car accident
SH1, TWO CAR ACCIDENT
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to a car accent on SH1 near the Pierre/SH29 intersection at approximately 6.30pm last night.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident, it appeared they had collided head on.
One driver, a male, was in moderate condition with lower leg injuries. The second driver, a female was reported to be trapped in her vehicle for a time while NZ Fire and ambulance staff worked to free her. She was in a serious condition with abdominal injuries.
She was flow by the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Waikato Hospital for treatment.
