The Gas Hub’s Parks and Places lands in Upper Hutt
Upper Hutt City Council’s Activation team is hosting active recreation opportunities for the Upper Hutt Community in January and February.
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 14 JAN 2016—Upper Hutt City Council’s Activation team are pleased to be partnering with The Gas Hub to bring back the very popular Parks and Placesprogramme to Upper Hutt.
The Gas Hub’s Parks and Places showcases community active recreation providers and events to the Upper Hutt area over a six week period.
Running through to the end of February, Activation has collated a calendar of daily recreation activities that cater for all in the community.
This year, providers were encouraged to take their activities outside to the parks and open spaces in Upper Hutt. The response has been fantastic, with providers embracing this opportunity. Activities such as mountain biking, petanque, Upper Cutt youth circuit fitness, hockey on wheels, gymnastics, bowls, FunFit dance fitness, walking, and tramping are just some of the activities provided.
During The Gas Hub’s Parks and Places there will also be key events being delivered in the Upper Hutt area. These include Youth in Parks, Paws in the Park, Kev the Wandering Kiwi, Bike to Work, Top School, and Bike the Trail.
“The providers have been key in assisting us to showcase Upper Hutt’s parks and open spaces, as well as the awesome activities that Upper Hutt has to offer,” says Activation’s Community Recreation Advisor, Chris Campbell.
The Gas Hub’s Parks and Places runs from 14 January through to 28 February.
