Macpac Stump the Hump – the only overnight endurance walk in NZ! NEW: Corporate teams
The annual Macpac Stump the Hump on the 6th February is a fully supported adventure walk which challenges participants to walk the entire 55km of the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track in a single go.
“There are a number of places left, so don’t hesitate to register now! New this year is the corporate team entry, so 3 team members. Two pay one is free. Stumping the Hump gives you a great sense of achievement!” says Cedric Wedderburn, Manager of the Hump Ridge Track.
Starting at midnight, walk over sandy beaches, through native forest and arrive at the subalpine Okaka Lodge in time for a bowl of porridge and to see the sun rise over Fiordland and the Southern Ocean.
The journey continues over historical viaducts and unspoilt wilderness to Port Craig and onwards to the finish line.
The Stump the Hump is now in its sixth year, attracting more than 200 entries, and it starts at midnight on the night of 6-7 February.
The objective is to hike 55km of the Humpridge Track in the Fiordland National Park in 24 hours.
Money raised from the event is used for the track's upkeep.
