Man Suffers Medical Event at Tangarakau
The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the remote South Waikato area of Tangarakau (approximately 65 km North of New Plymouth) at 10pm on Fridayevening.
A local resident had suffered a potentially serious medical event that evening.
St John Intensive Care Paramedics assessed the man at his rural home before preparing him for flight to hospital.
A 70 year old man was airlifted to New Plymouth Hospital.
The helicopter was used due to the isolated location and undertaken with the flight crew using Night Vision Goggles.
