Palino Ups the Ante
Palino Ups the Ante
Monday, 29 February 2016
John Palino’s announcement today that he is standing for Mayor on a platform of promising 10% rates cuts, ups the ante for the two other candidates who have promised a rates freeze, says the Ratepayers’ Alliance. Spokesperson Carmel Claridge says:
"All candidates will need to explain how their promises can be delivered and present a clear and comprehensive financial strategy to implement them. Mr Palino’s promise puts the ball into the court of the other candidates who will need to match or better it.”
“Auckland ratepayers have had enough of an unaccountable, out of control Council where today’s eye-watering billion dollar IT blow-out comes as no surprise.”
