Rangiora High School Principal To Challenge Dismissal
Rangiora High School Principal To Challenge Dismissal
Monday 7 March 2016
The following is a statement from Peggy Burrows (Principal of Rangiora High School) following the receipt of a letter today informing her that she has been dismissed, effective immediately.
“I have been today advised of my dismissal, a decision
I will be challenging.
This decision today remains very disappointing after more than a year of a Commissioner investigating Ministry of Education allegations which from the outset were not and are still not clear, and certainly not resolved.
After 13 years as Principal of Rangiora High School, I remain immensely proud of the students who have always been the absolute focus of my work as a Principal and an educator. I have worked hard, professionally and ethically for my school and community over that time.
Following more than a year of being “gagged” from speaking to the media, I have drafted this brief statement to communicate how I feel and indicate my intentions from this point forward.
There won’t be any further comment at this stage.
