Sky Tower to switch off lighting for Earth Hour
In support of a global effort to shine a light on climate change, the Sky Tower lights will turn off during Earth Hour, between 8.30pm and 9.30pm tomorrow night.
By taking part in this global project, SKYCITY is marking its commitment to the planet together with organisations worldwide.
SKYCITY has replaced 95% of the Sky Tower lights with energy saving LED lamps; one of many energy saving initiatives across the business.
The Sky Tower is the southern hemisphere’s tallest man-made structure based in the heart of Auckland, and is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable landmarks.
SKYCITY lights – or in this case turns off the lights of - the Sky Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, or to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations or events.
