James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor Completes Seismic Upgrade to 100% National Building Standard
James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor has completed its seismic upgrade to achieve 100% of the NBS (National Building Standard) code.
The hotel appointed an experienced project team consisting of Engineers (Aurecon), Project Managers (RCP), Architects (Tennent Brown Architects), Quantity Surveyors (RLB) and Construction team (Hawkins) who have been working on the strengthening process for the past 13 months.
The seismic project was divided into stages to strengthen the building and achieve 100% NBS, which included the carpark walls, the Terrace Wing and the sheer walls around the hotel’s lift core. The hotel appreciates the patience of their guests during this time and are happy to advise that all areas are now fully operational.
