David Hay proposes Auckland co-mayoralty bid

Ex Green Party Mayoral candidate David Hay today declared his intention to seek political co-leadership of Auckland with centre right candidate Victoria Crone.

"Victoria positively oozes leadership quality, and is seen as a front-runner by the media. But she has no experience of politics or local government."

"I, on the other hand, have stood for Parliament twice, have 10 years experience in local government, and a master's degree in public policy. But my vision and policies are largely being ignored."

"My proposed co-leadership bid is inspired by my experience in the Green Party: two co-leadership with complementary qualities can be so much more than the sum of their parts" said Mr Hay.

"The co-leadership model has worked so well for the Greens, I think Victoria and I should try it in Auckland" said Mr Hay.

Mr Hay has booked the Ngati Whatua room at the Auckland Town Hall for meeting to flesh out the proposal.
