Local appointments to the Board of Regenerate Christchurch
Media Statement: Strong support for local appointments to the new Board of Regenerate Christchurch
15 April 2016
Eastern Vision strongly supports the local appointments to the Board of Regenerate Christchurch announced today.
Eastern Vision is a group of community leaders that advocates for decision-making regarding the future of the eastern suburbs to include effective participation of local communities, integrated planning and collaborative transparent approaches.
“We are particularly pleased to see that Humphry Rolleston has been appointed to the Board and acknowledge Jen Crawford's expertise in planning and heritage”, says Rev Peter Beck convenor of Eastern Vision.
“Humphry has been a key founding member of Eastern Vision and is a man of independence and integrity who is not afraid to challenge dogma.
“He has a shrewd investment background complemented by a passion for good urban planning, ecology and community and is well connected in the east. These qualities are not immediately apparent in other appointees.
”Humphry’s governance experience and skills are second to none and will greatly complement the skills of the other Board members under Andre Lovatt’s leadership.
“He has played a key role in championing the sustainable regeneration of New Brighton and the residential red zones.
“It will be critical for the board to engage with organisations and individuals in the east who can provide guidance on these matters. Eastern Vision is very willing to continue contributing to these processes”, says Beck.
