Fuel Spill RNZN Naval Base Devonport North Yard
At 1229 The New Zealand Fire Service Northern Communications Centre were responded to a fuel leak at the RNZN Naval Base in Devonport. 3 Fire Crews were sent to the location and began their investigation of the fuel spill.
The fuel spill was found to be diesel that came from a tank containing 30,000 LTRS. At this stage it is believed to be a spill of approximate size of 1500 LTRS or less that had spilt.
The local council were called to assist the New Zealand Fire Service with its investigation to confirm the spill hadn’t entered the local waterway and sea. The spill hasn’t entered the local waterway or sea and was contained on land.
