Warm Up To The Winter Months At The Girls Night Out

Warm Up To The Winter Months

At The Girls Night Out

Finding strength in numbers rings true as the temperature starts to drop – upping the heat, wearing more layers and banding together with friends and family on cooler nights all add up to a recipe for a warmer winter.

Making a welcomed return, plans for what has been one of the hottest dates in the Christchurch calendar for the past decade are heating up, as The Palms’ annual Girls Night Out gets set for its next outing on Thursday 12 May, between 6pm to 9pm.

The evening event has traditionally delivered an opportunity for thousands of local women to gather together, put the to-do list away, enjoy a moment to think about themselves and walk away feeling inspired and refreshed as the winter months approach. With Mother’s Day just around the corner on Sunday 8 May, the event also poses the perfect excuse for mothers, daughters, sisters and friends to get together for the evening.

The Palms is encouraging local women to set aside their commitments for a night of self-indulgence at the Girls Night Out, where they will be greeted with a glass of bubbles on arrival. The evening will also entail live music, amazing prize draws every half hour, styling sessions with a leading stylist, hair and makeup styling stations, and advice on the season’s apparel from the centre’s stable of fashion retailers.

Popular radio host Hilary Muir will emcee the event and be the bearer of gifts as she draws a range of prizes from grocery vouchers, a year’s worth of movie tickets, to the ultimate prize of a $1,000 The Palms gift card. Not only is this a welcomed night out, but a pre-winter pep talk where event-goers will have the chance to get advice on the season’s trends and partake in exclusive styling sessions with renowned personal stylist Holley Banks. For many, winter can bring an overwhelming amount of fashion choices, styles and wardrobe dilemmas that can lead to the winter blues, while for some, it heralds the return of the beloved ‘Ugg’ boots.

An influential figure within the fashion industry, Holley Banks recently launched the Colour Swatch App, and will be on-hand throughout the evening encouraging women to equip themselves with the ever-helpful knowledge of their personal colour palette. As well as imparting valuable tips on creating autumn/winter wardrobes that suit an individual’s style, Holley will be talking through the 4 key trends this season.

A popular fixture at last year’s Girls Night Out event, Holley is looking forward to reconnecting with local women, who she says are confident and style-conscious in their approach fashion. “For me, one of the best things about winter is the fashion – the variety of styles, colours, textures and layering options the season offers. I love speaking with women, hearing their stories and helping them find new winter pieces that are perfect for them. My bottom line is that the women I see, leave feeling empowered and confident through great styling.”

Laura Jones, marketing manager at The Palms Shopping Centre, is proud to host The Palms’ Girls Night Out event, which has become a much-loved and highly anticipated evening of fun, fashion and food.

“With the event being held so close to Mother’s Day, it’s a timely reminder to ensure that local women take a night off from their busy schedules and spend time with their friends and family in a fun environment.”

Styling session and prize draw timing can be found via the event listing on Facebook.
