Community Voice ticket to contest Council elections
The Community Voice ticket will be launched outside the Founders theatre on Tristram Street Hamilton at 2pm Friday 20th May.
A new ticket, Community Voice, will contest the Hamilton City Council elections this year. Community Voice will field two candidates in each of the East and West wards.
Spokesperson, Peter Humphreys, Manager of the Hamilton Christian Night shelter, is standing in the West ward. He says that the four Community Voice candidates will bring greater diversity to the Council table. “Their strong community connections will strengthen Council decision making by placing a greater focus on social and community issues, and emphasising a greater commitment to the environment and sustainability.”
Voters faced with a long list of independent candidates will have a clear indication of the Community Voice candidates’ shared progressive values and perspectives.
Community Voice candidates for the 2016 Hamilton City Council elections are:
West ward: Peter Humphreys and Hikiera Toroa
East ward: Camilla Carty-Melis and Yugraj Singh Mahil
Candidates biographical information available at the launch.
