St John’s response to incident at Cowles Stadium- Chch

St John can confirm that we attended this incident at Cowles Stadium.

We were alerted to this incident at 4.37pm.

We sent an ambulance and two first response units to the scene.

The patient was a young child, male, and they were sadly deceased at the scene. We did not transport any patients from this scene.

Because of the nature of this incident we have no further comment; this is now a police matter. Please direct any enquires about the incident, including questions about the cause of death, to the police.
