Rainey’s official campaign launch
Rainey’s official campaign launch
Nelson city
councillor and mayoral candidate Pete Rainey has chosen an
unusual venue for his campaign launch – he’s holding it
in the Beaurepaire’s carpark.
Everyone is invited to come along this Saturday (August 27) at 10.30am, to the carpark outside Rainey’s office, opposite the Rutherford St entrance to the Nelson Market.
“We’re having a barbeque, Pic will be there with his big trailer serving his famous peanut butter on toast, there will be some music, and I’ll give a brief outline of what my Mayoralty will bring to the city,” Rainey said. “One of my platforms is bringing people together – so I’m making my launch a bit of a fun event where people can have a snack and enjoy the sunshine, along with a chat about the more serious election issues.”
Rainey said the downtown launch was in keeping with his policies to put the heart back into the city and the buzz back into the CBD.
The launch will go ahead wet or fine: “It’s always sunny in Rainey Nelson.”
