8 September 2016

Independent Citizens select Sam MacDonald as a candidate in the Waimairi Ward.

Independent Citizens is placing a strong focus this year on encouraging competent, young and energetic community leaders to stand in the upcoming Local Body Elections.

Sam MacDonald, a 25 year old, lives in the Waimairi Ward and works as a Chartered Accountant.

"Sam is involved in the local community and has a strong financial background. We are confident he will make a positive change in the Waimairi ward” says Brian Palliser, President of Independent Citizens

As a group Independent Citizens stand for pragmatic, responsible and collaborative representation.

MacDonald says he is excited by the opportunities Christchurch presents post-earthquake, and believes it is crucial to encourage more young people in the Local Government Elections. “The decisions being made now will continue to impact future generations of Cantabrians.
