Spinal Injury Flown to Middlemore Hospital
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched a rural home near Ruatoki, South of Whakatane, at approximately 3pm this afternoon. A 57 yr old local man was seriously injured after falling backwards while working in his shed on his lawnmower. The man was treated by St John paramedics before being flown to Middlemore Hospital's specialist spinal unit.
