New grants fund open for applications
Tasman District Council’s new Special Grants Fund, designed to encourage and support significant new events or projects within Tasman District, is now open for applications.
Community Partnerships Coordinator Mike Tasman-Jones says the fund, open for the first time this year, allows the Council to provide a larger financial contribution (upwards of $10,000) than its existing Community Grants fund allows.
“The kind of activities that are eligible for the new fund are new special events that will benefit the community and economy, by extending the range of opportunities and experiences to residents and visitors,” Mike says.
“Up to $50,000 will be available each year, providing the Council makes a surplus as a result of extra growth throughout the District. In years where there is no surplus, Special Grants funding will not be offered.”
Applications are open until 1 June 2017, or until the funds are fully allocated.
