Mystery material not asbestos
Mystery material not asbestos
Material dislodged from the ceiling during maintenance at our customer services office yesterday has been tested and no traces of asbestos were found.
The material was treated as hazardous and Council offices were closed as a precaution.
We undertook a specialised clean up and business resumed as usual today after WorkSafe gave the building the all clear.
An investigation into how the incident happened is underway and precautions will be taken to prevent it from happening again.
We apologise again to our customers and thank them for their patience during the temporary closure.
The last day for rates payment will remain until 25 November.
