One of New Zealand’s largest agricultural and lifestyle events, the Wanaka A&P Show, celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2017. Held March 10-11at the picturesque Wanaka Showgrounds opposite Lake Wanaka, the must-see event attracts more than 40,000 people each year. Kiwi icons the Topp Twins are set to take the stage at this year’s celebrations, and Wanaka’s own celebrity cook Annabel Langbein will be presenting live cooking demos in the Life & Style marquee.
More than 400 trade stalls complement the Show’s traditional equestrian and livestock events, live music and contemporary entertainment. The Show will again host the famous Beef + Lamb NZ Golden Lamb Awards (aka The Glammies) and the novelty Jack Russell race, as well as old-fashioned sheaf tossing and wood chopping competitions. Gates open 8am and close at 5pm and tickets can be purchased at the gate. Images can be downloaded here.
