NRC offices to close for Xmas, New Year
Northland Regional Council (NRC) offices will be closed from 2pm Friday 23 December until 8am Wednesday 04 January 2017 for the Christmas-New Year holiday break.
Council Chairman Bill Shepherd says the closures apply to the NRC’s head office in Water St, Whangarei and its offices in Kaitaia, and Opua. Dargaville-based NRC staff share offices with the Kaipara District Council, which advises it will be closed from noon Friday 23 December until 8am on Wednesday 04 January.
Mr Shepherd says environmental or maritime incidents can be reported to the regional council’s 24/7 Environmental Hotline (0800) 504 639 over the break.
“Our Maritime, environmental response, Civil Defence and hydrological staff will remain on-call and our annual summer swimming water quality monitoring programme will continue.”
“My fellow councillors and I, along with management and staff, wish Northlanders and visitors to our region a merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year.”
