Medical Emergency in Kaingaroa Forest
The Rotorua based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the Kangaroo forest (60km S/SE or Rotorua) at approximately 3pm Thursday afternoon to a medical emergency.
A man had fallen ill deep in the forest when the alarm was raised.
St John medical personal who are despatched with the helicopter assessed and stabilised the man before he was airlifted directly to Waikato Hospital for treatment
The 42 year old Rotorua man was in a comfortable but serious condition upon arriving at hospital.
