Good Sports Project Update
The Good Sports team is proud to publicly release the Good Sports Spine. The Good Sports Spine underpins Good Sports’ key messages, and ultimately maps the culture change that Good Sports aims to create. The visual below can be used as a tool to map the attitudes that adults hold about children’s sport and the behaviours that might be displayed in association with these attitudes. Ultimately, the Good Sports Spine helps map out how adults' attitudes and behaviours can impact children's needs in a sporting context.
The two different ‘climates’ should be seen at opposite ends of a continuum. Good Sports believes that for every Kiwi kid to have a positive sporting experience, then the status quo of adults’ beliefs and attitudes about children’s sport, needs to be underpinned by a ‘Climate of Development’.
