Trail Riding injuries
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched on back to back to flights to an organised farm/trail ride motorcycle event on the highway 22 road near Naike, west of Huntly.
The first occasion was
for a 42yr old Hamilton man who crashed off his bike
receiving chest injuries. He was flown to Waikato Hospital
where upon unloading him we were notified of another man, a
47yr old from Warkworth, who had just crashed with a
suspected spinal injury that also required airlifting.
Whilst treating that man at the event another rider
presented with serious back pain and he was taken by road
ambulance staff to Waikato
Hospital.
